Summary:

Stetson Mountain Formation of Kossuth Group [new names] subdivided in the Danforth area, ME, into three newly named units: the Tolman Hill, Ironstone, and Public Lot Ridge members. Public Lot Ridge makes up the bulk of the felsic volcanic unit. Contains a large proportion of volcanogenic sedimentary rock. Rock types include cryptocrystalline rhyolites and rhyodacties like those in the Tolman Hill member; microporphyries; clast-supported conglomerates; volcanic agglomerate; lithic and quartzo-feldspatic arenites; coarse-grained pink agglomerate with red chert, red tuff, and gray chert fragments. No thickness given. Underlies Mill Priviledge Brook Formation of Prentiss Group. Late Ordovician age is based on Caradocian graptolites from the Tolman Hill member.
