Summary:

Named as an informal descriptive term for a granite in secs 1 and 12, T13N, R81W and in secs 6 and 7, T13N, R80W, Carbon Co, WY in the Northern Rocky Mountain region. Neither source of geographic name nor type locality designated. Intent to name not stated. Is in contact with gabbro on north and with gneiss on south; contacts are gradational. Is highly deformed with cataclastic structure and strongly foliated with development of augen where crystals of potash feldspar are deformed. Table shows mineralogy of the granite. Geologic map. Is one of several small to medium-sized granite and quartz monzonite bodies of Precambrian age in the area of the Mullen Creek mafic complex (first used).
