Summary:

First published use as middle member of Spokane formation of Piegan group (new) of Belt series. Is part of the western facies of the Spokane. Source of name not stated. No type locality designated. Areal limits not discussed. [Inadequate definition.] Overlies Greyson member (rank reduced) of Spokane. Underlies Empire member (rank reduced) of Spokane. Ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 ft thick. Composed of argillite interbedded with sandstone and lenticular conglomerate. Mud cracks and ripple marks common. Of pre-Cambrian age.
