Summary:

Pinehurst is subdivided into two informally named members--Piney Grove and Plain View. Name Plain View is applied to sediments below 325 and above 280-270 ft at Plain View Church, northwest of junction of Rte 50 and 42 in Johnston Co., NC. Overlies Macks Formation (new name). Age is Pliocene(?).
