Summary:

Named as middle member (of 3) of Lenapah limestone of the Marmaton group in southeastern KS; named from Perry farm which is on the south side of the east-west road by Angola, Labette Co, KS. Type exposure 10 ft thick designated along south side of the east-west road and along a private road to the southwest, east of a bridge over Pumpkin creek, in NW NE sec 7, T34S, R18E, about 1.5 mi west of Angola, Labette Co in the Cherokee basin. Other measured sections. Consists of a calcareous fossiliferous shale which at its upper boundary is somewhat gradational into the overlying limestone; this shale characterized by nodules of limestone, especially in the upper part. In KS, maximum thickness is 10 ft; in the area of the type locality of the Lenapah limestone north of Lenapah, Nowata Co, OK, thickness is 15+ ft. Overlies Norfleet limestone member (new) and underlies Idenbro limestone member (new), both of Lenapah limestone of Marmaton. Brachiopods AMBOCOELIA and MARGINIFERA abundant. Cross section. Of Pennsylvanian, Des Moines age.
