Named presumably for Peppersauce Canyon in Santa Catalina Mountains, AZ in the Basin-and-Range province. No type locality designated. 21 ft of (alternating) hard, pinkish quartzite and brown, often porous and saccharoidal, calcareous sandstone beds. Overlies Abrigo formation. Is of Late Cambrian age.

Used in Mammoth quad, Pinal Co, AZ in the Basin-and-Range province as member of Abrigo Formation, equivalent to Stoyanow's (1936) Peppersauce Sandstone and Abrigo Formation. Named for Peppersauce Wash. Is youngest member of Abrigo Formation. Is 335 ft thick in representative section in Nugget Canyon. Lower unit, about 200 ft thick, is brown, thin-bedded arenaceous dolomite and dolomitic sandstone. Upper unit about 140 ft thick is alternating dolomitic sandstone and sandy dolomite. [The lower unit of this local member was assigned to the middle member of Abrigo Formation by Hayes (1975). The upper unit was divided into the upper sandy member and overlying Copper Queen Member of Abrigo Formation by Hayes (1975).] Is of Middle and Late Cambrian age.
