Summary:

Patterson Sandstone named in subsurface of Pontotoc Co., northeastern MS. This gas-bearing medium-gray to brownish sandstone contains quartz pebbles and grit in lower part. Unit is 15 m thick. Overlies Ottawa Group; underlies Wayne Formation. Age is Early Silurian.
