Summary:

Named for village of Ono, Shasta Co, CA. Type section designated along North Fork of Cottonwood Creek from Ono to confluence of North Fork with Huling Creek, Ono 15' quad, Shasta Co, CA. Consists of approximately 4200 ft of mudstone, siltstone, conglomerate, graywacke, and limestone. Gradationally overlies Rector formation (new); underlies unnamed conglomerate units. Includes Huling and Roaring River tongues (both new). Age is Early Cretaceous based on fossils PERVINQUIERIA HULENANA and SHASTICRIOCERAS PONIENTE Zones, Horsetown Stage.

Summary:

Ono Formation is abandoned because of new mapping. Rocks are now part of Budden Canyon Formation (new). Huling and Roaring River "tongues" are revised to Huling Sandstone Member and Roaring River Member of Budden Canyon Formation.
