Summary:

Olalla Creek Member is named as the uppermost member (of 3) of the Lookingglass Formation (new) is named for Olalla Creek, Douglas Co., OR. Type section not evaluated to date. May be seen in center of syncline along Olalla Creek and intermittently southwest of Tenmile Butte to Buck Springs, to Live Oak Mountain, and on to Dutchman Butte, and Chipmunk Ridge to Twelvemile Creek. Composed of conglomerate and sandstone similar to that of the Bushnell Rock Member (new) of the Lookingglass Formation. Is about 1000 ft thick. Overlies the Tenmile Member (new) of the Lookingglass Formation. Unconformably underlies the Flournoy Formation (new). Age is early and middle Eocene based on age of the Lookingglass Formation.

Summary:

Olalla Creek Member of the Lookingglass Formation of Baldwin (1974) assigned to the White Tail Ridge Member of the Umpqua Formation. Interpreted to be more landward facies of the White Tail Ridge Member [members of the Umpqua Formation are not adopted in this paper; Lookingglass Formation is not recognized].
