Summary:

[Probably named for Nutzotin Mountains]. Occurs in belt of rocks running parallel to St. Elias Range at its northern margin, southern AK. At base is heavy conglomerate included in Wellesley formation in a previous report. This is succeeded by great thickness of slates, graywackes, and impure limestones. Intruded by many basic dikes. Unconformably overlies older sedimentary rocks (Kotlo series). Age of fossils from Kletsan Creek is either Devonian or Carboniferous (identified by Charles Schuchert). Map legend gives age as late Paleozoic.
