Summary:

Named as lowest member (of 3) of Hu-pwi Rhyodacite. Type locality: exposures in and near Nugent Wash, T11N R32E, north Gabbs Valley Range, Mineral Co, NV. Consists of gray and brown rhyodacitic ash-flow tuff. Forms porphyritic, compound cooling unit. Thickness ranges from 1 to 500 m. Overlies Blue Sphinx Tuff (new) or lava of Nugent Wash; underlies Ghost Dance Lava Member (new) or Poinsettia Tuff Member (new) (both of Hu-pwi Rhyodacite or younger lavas or tuffs. Has K-Ar age of 23 Ma. Is Miocene age.
