Named for typical exposures at Northcraft Mountain. Also typically exposed along road that parallels Salmon Creek in sec.2 and NW/4 sec.1 T15N R1W, Thurston Co, southwestern WA. [No type designated]. Consists of approximately 700 to 1000 ft of lava flows, pyroclastic rocks, flow-breccia and sedimentary rocks (conglomerate and sandstone) that conformably overlie McIntosh formation and are unconformably overlain by Skookumchuck formation (new). Contains no fossils; age is considered late Eocene because of stratigraphic position.
