Summary:

Named the Nicholville conglomerate member of the Potsdam sandstone for Nicholville, St. Lawrence Co., northeastern NY. Consists of friable, red, quartz-pebble conglomerate with intercalated sand lenses; cross-bedding and local unconformities common. Underlies and probably interfingers with unnamed upper member. Base not exposed; believed to unconformably overlie Precambrian rocks. The Nicholville is of Late Cambrian age.
