Summary:

Named for exposures at type locality, New York Peak, Pine Forest Range on eastern edge of Idaho Canyon 15' quad, Humboldt Co, NV. Well exposed to west of New York Peak in secs.4 and 9 T42N R28E and along Corral Creek above 6000 ft in secs.4-5 T42N R28E, Idaho Canyon 15' quad. Is light-colored, massive quartz monzonite. Only heterogeneous granodiorite border facies crops out in Duffer Peak 15' quad. In Idaho Canyon 15' quad intrudes unnamed syenodiorite pluton and is intruded by fine-grained quartz monzonite. In Duffer Peak 15' quad unit intrudes Happy Creek Volcanic Series. Age given as Late Cretaceous.
