Summary:

Extended into the Iowa shelf, IA from MO as the uppermost member of the newly named Swede Hollow Formation of Cherokee Group of Des Moines Supergroup. Overlies unnamed gray shale of Swede Hollow. Underlies the newly named Mouse Creek Formation of Marmaton Group of Des Moines Supergroup. Is very thin. Sporadic in occurrence. Occurs as a smut at some localities, especially in the subsurface. Nomenclature chart. Cross section. Of Desmoinesian, Pennsylvanian age.
