Summary:

Named the Mount Washington Amphibolite of the Baltimore Mafic Complex for Mount Washington section of Baltimore City, northeastern MD. Consists of fine- to medium-grained, dark-green to black, plagioclase amphibolite. Unit is in thrust contact with Loch Raven Schist, Oella Formation, and Sykesville Formation. Overlies Hollofield Layered Ultramafite of the Baltimore Mafic Complex and is truncated by the James Run Formation to the southeast. The Mount Washington is of Cambrian(?) age.
