Summary:

First? published use of name. Applied to a subsurface lenticular sand more than 120 ft below top of Cotton Valley formation (first? used). Overlain and underlain by unnamed gray and red shale of the Cotton Valley. Named for the Lion Oil Refining Co. and Phillips Petroleum Co. Edna Morgan A-1 in? the Schuler Pool, Union Co, AR in the Arkla basin. Columnar section. Mesozoic age.
