Summary:

The Montebello Limestone Member of the Cibao Formation, here named, consists of thin-bedded and cross-bedded limestone overlain by friable massive pure limestone of fine texture. Lies at the base of the Cibao, which rests sharply or disconformably on the Lares Limestone; underlies calcareous clay or marl of the Cibao. Thickness ranges from 30 m at the type locality to to 210 m in central and western parts of the Florida quadrangle. Age is Oligocene and Miocene.
