Pg. 5, 9. Miles limestone. Basal member of Falls City limestone formation. Is blue-gray; locally weathers brownish and porous; 1+ feet thick. Underlies Reserve shale member and overlies Hawxby shale formation. Age is considered Permian (lower part of Big Blue).
Type locality: in high hill west of the Miles Ranch, 2+/- mi southwest of Falls City, [Richardson Co., southeastern NE].
