Named as one of five newly named sandstone tongues of the Terryville Sandstone (new) of the Cotton Valley Group. Type section designated as between 9,440 and 9,590 ft in the Arkansas-Louisiana Gas Co. Lewis No. 1, NW NW sec 27, T19N, R4W, Lincoln Parish, LA in Arkla basin. Consists of white quartzose sandstone about 50 ft thick. Considered to be a blanket sandstone that overlies and underlies gray shale of the Hico Shale (new) of Cotton Valley Group. Pinches out into Hico in northern LA. Cross sections. Late Jurassic age.
