Summary:

Lower Marble formation in the Northwest Adirondack Mountains subdivided into several informal members. Marble City member described as gray and white banded graphite-phlogopitic calcitic marble with disseminated brown tourmaline, local chondrodite, and floating tremolite prisms. Overlies a thin, unnamed scapolite member and the lowermost Black Lake member. Underlies an unnamed calcitic marble member.
