Summary:

Named, as the second oldest member of five named members of the Blaine division, for the name of the permanent camp of an Arapahoe Chief of the name Magpie, Bitter Creek, Blaine Co, OK in the Anadarko basin. No type locality designated. Lies above a red shale above the Ferguson gypsum member (new) of the Blaine. Is a ledge of arenaceous dolomite which varies from 1 to 3 ft thick, locally 10 or 12 ft. Overlain by second gypsum member, Medicine Lodge gypsum member of the Blaine. Permian age.
