Summary:

Red beds, with green to buff layers in Longwood Valley, Morris Co., NJ, called Longwood red shales. Overlain by 12 ft. of light-colored thin-bedded quartzites. Thickness 150 ft. Underlie Waterlime member [Decker limestone] of Helderberg limestone [broad usage of Helderberg] and grade into underlying Green Pond conglomerate. Age is Silurian.
