Summary:

Named for Logan, Hocking Co., south-central OH. Consists of buff-colored, fine-grained sandstone. Thickness is 133.5 ft. Underlies Maxville limestone or, where that is absent, the coal measures. Overlies 85 ft of alternate fine-grained Waverly-like seams and conglomerate [Waverly conglomerate) exposed at Black Hand, where it is 50-60 ft thick. [Age is Mississippian.]
