Summary:

Named for exposures along road between Lodoga and Sites, Lodoga quad, Colusa Co, CA which site is designated type section. Divided into Leesville Sandstone Member at base and Eckman Canyon Sandstone Member about 1222 m above base with intervening and overlying unnamed siltstone beds. Rocks were formerly assigned to Paskenta and Horsetown Groups of Shasta Series and part of Chico Group as defined by Anderson (1902, 1933, 1945). Consists of dark-gray siltstone with many lenticular beds of sandstone and few conglomerate lenses. Is thin- to thick-bedded, mixed plutonic and volcanic detritus deposited in deep-marine trough. Thickness is generally 4,200 m with range of 3,600 m to 4,800 m. Conformably overlies Stony Creek Formation (new). Conformably underlies Boxer Formation (new). Is Early Cretaceous (Aptian and Albian) age.
