Lee Creek Member of Brassfield Limestone named in Jefferson Co., southeastern IN. Extends into north-central KY. Unit is fine-grained, thin-bedded varicolored dolomite, 1.3 m thick. Contains calcite-filled vugs, glauconite, and diagnostic conodont fossils. Type section and two reference sections designated. As top member, overlies lower part of Brassfield Limestone with sharp lithologic break. Unconformably underlies Osgood Member of Salamonie Dolomite. Age is Early Silurian.

The Lee Creek Member of the Brassfield Limestone is described here as a fine-grained dolomite that varies from tan to red brown and in places has a greenish cast. Sand-sized glauconite common near the top of the unit. Bedding is thin and irregular. Maximum thickness 4.3 ft, but commonly less than 1 ft. Present from Mt. Washington, Bullitt Co., KY, to Madison, Jefferson Co. IN and discontinuously present north of Madison. Recognized in Decatur and Switzerland Cos. Underlies the Osgood Member of the Salamonie Dolomite in Indiana and the Osgood Formation in KY). Correlates with the Brandon Bridge Member of the Joliet Formation of northeastern IL, the Seventy-Six Shale Member of the Bainbridge Formation in southwestern IL, and the top of the Noland Formation in KY based on conodont fauna. Age is Llandoverian.
