Summary:

Pg. 275, 310-311, 337, 351-355, figs. 1-5, 14. Laucomer Member of Snake Creek Formation of Ogallala Group. Unconsolidated fluviatile deposit. Consists of quartz sand, gravel, fossil fragments, ash. Thickness up to 47 feet. Is middle member of Snake Creek Formation (restricted); formerly included in "Upper Snake Creek" beds by Matthew, 1923 (Amer. Mus. Nat. Hist. Nov., no. 53, p. 11-13). Unconformably overlies Murphy Member (new) of Snake Creek Formation. Fossils (vertebrates). Includes upper part of Snake Creek fauna. Age is middle Miocene (late Clarendonian NALMA).
Type section: near the Laucomer Ranch, on northeast side of Matthew's (Amer. Mus. Nat. Hist. Bull., v. 50, art. 2, p. 63, fig. 1, 1924) "Olcott Hill," in NE/4 SW/4 SE/4 sec. 3, T. 25 N., R. 55 W., Sioux Co., northwestern NE. Named from the David Laucomer Ranch. [Recognized locally in type area.]
