Summary:

Lake Waco Formation of Eagle Ford Group. Limestone and shale; limestone forms top and bottom units of formation; shale, calcareous, bentonitic, interbedded with thin beds of hard limestone which are less abundant upward. Thickness 25 to 60 feet, thins southward. Lies above Pepper Shale (south of Brazos River) or Woodbine Formation (north of Brazos River). Lies below South Bosque Formation of Eagle Ford Group. Age is Late Cretaceous.
Mapped in Bell, McLennan, and Hill Cos., eastern TX.
