Lake Trafford Formation named in Collier Co., southeastern FL. Unit consists of buff to brown limestone with minor anhydrite. Thickness at type well is 41 m. Overlies Sunniland Limestone. Age is Early Cretaceous.

Lake Trafford Formation of Ocean Reef Group is 159 ft thick in report area. Overlies Sunniland Formation and underlies Rattlesnake Hammock Formation (new), both of Ocean Reef Group. Age is Early Cretaceous.

Early Cretaceous (Comanchean) Lake Trafford Formation of Ocean Reef Group in the subsurface of southern FL correlates with the Glen Rose and Stuart City Formations of TX. Overlies Sunniland Limestone of Ocean Reef and underlies an unnamed unit of Ocean Reef.
