Unit is named the Khuchaynik Dolostone for the Khuchaynik Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork of the Kuskokwim River, east of Lone Mountain, Alaska. Consists of dolostone containing numerous packstone or grainstone beds composed of coated grains with a maximum diameter of about 1 mm, and locally vugs where grains have been dissolved. Locally strongly recrystallized sugary texture and discontinuous gossan. Weathers to light to medium gray; fresh color is medium gray. Thickness is as least 228 m at type; upper contact is faulted. Lower contact with the Lone Formation (new) is sharp and conformable; upper contact is faulted. Age is Late(?) Proterozoic.
