Summary:

Named for Kamanaiki Valley, tributary of Kaliki Valley [Honolulu 7.5' quad] Island of Oahu. Forms 40-ft v-shaped fill in waterfall at 750 ft elevation and patches in lower valleys. Included as unit in middle part of Honolulu volcanic series. Composed of fresh, dark gray, slightly vesicular basalt containing small olivine phenocrysts with well developed columnar jointing. Unconformably overlies Koolau volcanic series. Lower end of flow underlies sediments of Waimanalo stand of sea. Appears to be concurrent with Waipio stand of sea. Assigned middle(?) and late Pleistocene age.

Summary:

Rests unconformably on Koolau volcanic series and on sediments laid down during stand of sea higher than present one. Is overlain by limestone of plus 25-foot (Waimanalo) stand of sea. No fossils. Because of relationships above assigned to late Pleistocene age.
