Summary:

Name Jacob sand applied to interglacial deposit of fine gray sands or the equivalents, 40+ ft thick, overlying the Gardiner[s] clay on Long Island. Conformably underlies Herod gravel. Also occurs eastward to New England islands and Cape Cod. Correlated with Yarmouth stage of Mississippi Valley.
