Pg. 1796, 1797. Occurs in form of laccolith and intrusive dikes. Older than Prettymarsh diorite (new); younger than Frenchmans Bay series. Age is Late Silurian or Early Devonian.
Type locality not stated. Occurs at Ireson's Hill and its cliffs at The Ovens on north shore of Mount Desert Island, Hancock Co., southeastern ME. Other exposures also on this island.
