Summary:

Named Indian Mountain leucogranodiorite from exposures on Indian Mountain about 2 mi southwest of Pala in northern part of San Luis Rey 30' quad, San Diego Co, CA. Also occurs in body underlying Lancaster Mountain and area to north of mountain about 6 mi southwest of Pala. Leucogranodiorite is nearly white in color, rather fine-grained and shows very little biotite. Upper part shows faint streaking. In area around Lancaster Mountain unit is cut by aplite dikes with some garnet and streaks of pegmatitic material with tourmaline. Streaks resemble streaks of fat and lean in fat bacon. Intrudes Bonsall tonalite. Map legend gives age as Cretaceous.
