Summary:

Named as upper member (of 2) of Echooka Formation of Sadlerochit Group. Type locality designated as exposures on tributary of Cache Creek and Canning River, 69 deg 27' 45"N, 145 deg 53'30"W in Ikiakpaurak Valley, south flank of Shublik Mountains, northeastern AK. Exposed at numerous localities along north front of eastern Brooks Range. Consists of dark highly quartzose sandstone and siltstone with minor interbeds of silty shale. Locally in Sadlerochit and Shublik Mountains contains well-defined basal channel conglomerates derived from underlying cherty limestone of Lisburne Group. Is 280 ft thick at type locality. Conformably overlies Joe Creek Member (new) (Echooka Formation). North of type locality disconformably overlies Lisburne Group. Conformably to disconformably underlies Kavik Member (new) of Ivishak Formation. Age is late Guadalupian (Kazanian) based on brachiopod fauna.
