Summary:
Named as a member (1 of 5) of Gothic Formation. Source of geographic name not stated. Type locality designated about 2 mi north of Redstone on east slopes of valley adjacent to gully with an intermittent waterfall in sec 4, T10S, R88W, Pitkin Co, CO in the Eagle basin. Is 71 ft thick at type measured section where it overlies Crystal River Siltstone Member (new) of Gothic and underlies Jack's Cabin Limestone Member (new) of Gothic. Is a conglomerate of mainly granite, quartz, and feldspar pebbles up to 2 in diameter, average less than 1 inch in a matrix of medium to coarse arkose. Is light red in lower part and greenish-gray upwards. Is calcareous, has abundant biotite. Of [Middle] Pennsylvanian, Desmoinesian age. Cross section.
