Summary:

Pg. 20, 23. Hooser shale member of Garrison formation of Council Grove group. Hooser shale, new name for basal part of Easly Creek shale of Condra 1927. It consists of (descending): (1) olive shale, calcareous, argillaceous, fossiliferous, weathers buff, 2 feet; (2) shale, weathered buff, with boxwork at places, 1 foot; (3) shale, grayish, with calcareous concretionary subzone near base and reddish subzone below middle, 8 feet. Thickness averages about 11 feet from Nebraska to Oklahoma. Underlies Middleburg limestone member and overlies Eiss limestone member, both of Garrison formation of Council Grove group.
