[Type locality and derivation of name not stated] Haystack Mountain is in Skagit Co, Northern Cascades, WA. Haystack Creek Gneiss is large elongate stock of leucotrondhjemitic gneiss which is one of intrusive units of the Skagit Metamorphic Suite. Unit intruded in a crystalline state during fairly late stage of metamorphism. Is Paleozoic(?) age.
