Pg. 1579, 1582. Hartgrove limestone member of Talpa formation. A 2-foot bed of dark gray limestone lying 1,000 feet above Coleman Junction limestone is here named Hartgrove member, from exposure on Mack Hartgrove's ranch, where it crops out 0.4 mile south of and 37 feet lower than the ground at Eugene Mays well, middle of west line of Anton Schmidz survey No. 312, about 4.5 miles southeast of Paint Rock, Concho County, central Texas. Has been traced across southeastern part of Runnels County to 11 miles north of southeast corner of that county. Is persistent ledge maker and hence is considered top member of Talpa formation. [Age is Permian.]
