Summary:

Pg. 50. Haldane Bentonite Bed of Loves Park Member of Dunleith Formation (in Illinois), and Haldane Bentonite Bed of Wall Member of Dunleith Formation (Galena area). Present in Illinois. Consists of bentonite clay, 0.05 m thick. Bed marked by strong reentrant in exposures. At type section, overlies and underlies dolomite units in upper part of Loves Park member. To the west, in Galena, Illinois, area, is in middle part of Wall Member. Age is Middle Ordovician.
Type section: Victory School Section, abandoned quarry on west side of Pine Creek, north of Victory School, 3.2 km southwest of Mt. Morris, in NW/4 SW/4 SE/4 sec. 32, T. 24 N., R. 9 E., Ogle Co., IL. Named from town of Haldane, 8 km northwest of type section.
