Summary:

Name Grasselli dolomite applied to dark fine-grained to finely crystalline dolomite in the ore section of Grasselli Mine. Scattered throughout the dolomite are a few white spots and at the base is a green shale and some quartzite grains. Overlies brown limestone, which may be altered to crystalline dolomite. Underlies 3 to 5 ft of fine-grained to finely crystalline mottled and sparsely spotted greenish to pinkish medium-gray dolomite. Thickness about 5 ft. Occurs within the Kingsport formation and considered Ordovician (Canadian) in age.
