Summary:

Gladesville Norite described in Jasper Co., central GA. Characterized by rhythmic layering. Thermal alteration zone along margin. Intrudes gneissic country rocks; cut by later intrusive mafic dikes, pegmatites, and diabase. 7000 m thick. Age is Precambrian(?).
