Named as 2nd member from uppermost member (of 8 named members) of Schoonover Formation (new). Named for occurrence along Frost Creek, Bull Run quad, Elko Co, NV. Shown on geologic map of portions of Bull Run and Wildhorse quads. Consists of sequence of distinctive pale-olive, siliceous argillaceous lutites which are thin-bedded or shaly in places. North of Ott Creek, lower part is uniformly bedded, light-olive-gray chert with argillaceous interbeds and fewer thicker quartzose siltite beds which weather to brown hues. Is not more than 650 ft thick. Overlies Ott Creek Member; underlies Bailey Creek Member (both new and of Schoonover Formation). Is Mississippian age.
