Named as the upper member (of five) of De Chelly [sic] Sandstone for outcrops in Bonito Canyon near Ft. Defiance, its type section, Apache Co, AZ in the Black Mesa basin. Is 106 feet thick at Bonito Canyon. Of limited areal extent. Overlies Black Creek Member (new) of De Chelly. Underlies Triassic rocks. Consists of slope-forming, flat-bedded, water-deposited siltstones and sandstones. Permian age.
