Summary:

Forbush orthogneiss of Heyn (1984) here referred to as Forbush gneiss, Middle Proterozoic basement described as intensely sheared biotite augen gneiss. Occurs outermost part of the Sauratown Mountains anticlinorium. Forbush here also includes rocks referred to by Heyn (1984) as "bag." Underlies Ashe Formation. U-Pb concordia upper-intercept age on zircon is 1230+/-6 Ma according to McConnell and others (1988).
