Used as Forbes Hill Melange of Fisher (1984) in Glens Falls quad. Ordovician shales contain masses of wildflysch or melange, including Forbes Hill and the Rysedorph Conglomerate, which in turn contain exotic blocks of carbonate rocks, graywackes, and local pillow lava. Ordovician shale underlies Late Proterozoic through Ordovician units of Taconic allochthon. [Use of "Melange" as a rank term is not accepted by USGS.]
