Pg. 40-47. Fiske Creek formation. Description of Upper Cretaceous pelagic foraminifers from "Antelope shale" of Taliaferro (1954). Kirby, 1943 (California Div. Mines Bull., no. 118) referred to these strata as Horsetown formation of Shasta group. J. Lawton (unpub. thesis) has proposed term Fiske [Creek] formation for this unit. In present report, term "Antelope shale" is used as most suitable published name, although it is a junior homonym of "Antelope formation" (Miocene) subsurface, Kern County, California, described by Noble, 1940 (AAPG Bull., v. 27, no. 3).
