Summary:

Named the Finch Dolostone Member of the Whitehall Formation in NY and VT for Finch Marsh, Washington Co., NY. Consists of medium-gray, thin- to thick-bedded, laminated dolostone with interbedded chert. Dolostone has a fetid odor and contains abundant quartz vugs. Thickness is 12.2 to 22.8 meters. Overlies basal orthoquartzite of the Whitehall Formation and underlies the Warner Hill Limestone Member of the Whitehall. The Finch is of Late Cambrian age.
