Summary:

Named for town of Ferguson, Blaine Co, OK, lowermost heavy gypsum ledge of Blaine division (new), in Anadarko basin. No type locality designated. Varies from white to dirty brown. Exact thickness not stated. Thickest in Canadian, Kingfisher, and southern Blaine Cos; thins north and disappears near Glass Mountains of TX. Ferguson overlies Norman division (new); underlies Magpie dolomite member (new) of Blaine division. Forms a conspicuous ledge. Permian age.
