Summary:

First used as Farner Formation of Great Smoky Group. Table 2 shows it as underlying Copperhill Formation of Great Smoky Group east of Greenbrier fault. Stratigraphic relations with Boyd Gap Formation (new) of Great Smoky Group are uncertain.
